The gIRCD was developed for the Global IRC Network and the idea of creating a network made up of smaller networks linked together.

The gIRCD uses the stability of bahamut combined with some unique feature, such as kill/akill limitations, some bot support (mostly actually done on services part but the needed implementations the ircd were done).
